Feels Like Wearing... Lace Shorts

Feels Like Wearing ... Lace Shorts

Today we send my favourite month of the year away and for me tomorrow will oficially turn into summer. That is why I felt like wearing lace shorts and cute denim top. Unfortunately, I miss those pieces from my closet so this is the closest to the whole idea presented in a set. I am not sure why the boots, though. I guess.. it felt like they were the right choice. I've always wanted to pair shorts with boots in the summer because it seemed to cool every time that I see somebody wering them but I've never actually dared to. Who knows what this summer brings about ? I can only hope for lots of fun, happy moments shared with beloved people at home and of course shorts paired with boots.

What do you expect from the summer? It always turns out to be less fun than one expects, I know. But still.. "aim for the moon. if you miss you may hit a star." So I wish you this.

Thank you for reading and stay tuned!

Why are the dark jeans essential ?

Denim has become a huge part of everyday looks, not to mention the denim jackets and shirts trend. Dark jeans are the two things which as you may already know, are most important to me: versatile and practical. They can be worn in so many ways and they'll still be your favourite, most comfortable pair of jeans no matter how you combine your outfit. Whether you go out with a tribal shirt and converse sneakers, or clubbing at a fancy place wearing heels and a pretty peplum , they are the right choice. And why not wear them while in your company's meeting? Did you know that Mark Zuckerberg (founder of facebook) wears a simple shirt and jeans even when he's meeting his investors? Of course, there are occasions and outfits which require different choice but dark jeans are the most stylish opition / substitute in these moments.

The Lookbook - Denim Shorts and White Top

"Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure. "
-George Edward Woodberry

Summer time in London. Sounds so unrealistic, yet true. This is the first more summer-y outfit for this year and I'm really happy that it's in May. Let the summer begin and hopefully better times will come with the sunshine.

I wore the oldest denim shorts ever with my other old pieces from my closet. Nothing fancy, just something which let my skin breathe. The whole lookbook happened on the spur of the moment.

Decoupage Ideas for Home Part II

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

Since this post turned out to be quite popular, I decided to continue with the decoupage ideas and try to show you new ways in which you can use your imagination and crafty abilities to make your home prettier. I plan to do that as well, as soon as I find my own place for the following year.

As I have mentioned, in the dorms where I currently live, there is not much I can show you of my own work so the best I could do is gather 'all things pretty' and try to show you some other cool places which you might want to visit to improve your decoupage technique. If you're still unsure about the method itself try to read my first post on the topic: here  .

Here are some cute and creative ways in which you can personalize stuff around your home to look a bit like this one:

If you'd like something that will remain visible and you can always boast about in front of friends and family try decoupaging fabric on artist canvas by using this incredibly simple tutorial ! You can easily reach the results shown on the picture below. The best part is that you'll get a masterpiece of your own for a very low price.

Feels Like Wearing... White Jeans

"Nobody has ever measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold."

Feels Like Wearing White Jeans

Today is another warm even hot day. I can't believe how this UK weather works...
Back to topic - feels like wearing white jeans. I've always loved the summer spirit that white jeans bring. They are just as versatile and stylish as the black blazer or the classic black trouser. In the set above I tried something that I mentioned as my weakness - colours ! Aren't those yellow and blue shades amazing? I am currently in love with a similar yellow blazer from Zara but I'll probably postpone its purchase.

White jeans are great not only for summer - I love seeing people during the cold months wearing white rather than the more typical black, grey shades for the season. Plus, they can be worn with every colour that you can think of while giving a certain amount of freshness to an outfit. They are a must-have for every season and soon you may just see me with a pair of my own because it really does feel like wearing such.

The Lookbook - Zara Trousers, Stradivarius Flower Belt

"For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul. "
- Judy Garland

Hello everybody! It is getting quite warm in London these days. It was awesome yesterday and today it's even hot. Can't wait to go back home and spend my days on the beach... But that in a month time or so.

Today I had a lovely walk with a lovely friend - I. We decided that this sunshine cannot go to waste so we procrastinated studying for our last exam and went to spend some money, walk along the Thames, have a yummy meal, try on some shoes ... sounds good, right?

I am wearing beige once again but this was my inspiration for the day. The best part of the outfit in my opinion, are the amazing belt and the cute lace socks. I love the Zara trousers as well, the ankle length suggests high heels but I think they look just as great with flats.

Birthday Today...

Hello guys! Yup, it is my birthday. I know I may sound pessimistic again but I don't like my birthdays and sometimes it feels as if I'm the only one who doesn't. But since it's a special one today - I turn 20, it will be all about optimism. I don't know if it's proper to wish something to yourself but I want to do it. It is actually something that was already wished to me two years ago by someone quite special for me:

"To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - a way to success I hope you follow."

I guess I finally reached them ...

Thanks for visiting !

I have to admit a small mistake that I recently made. Apparently, I love scarves way too much because I wrote not one but two posts about them being an essential item. I beg to be forgiven for the mistake but after I read through them I think both posts are quite good and valuable. So I decided not to delete one of them and if you'd like to get a few ideas about how you can wear your scarves click here and here

Back to today's post now.
Last week I noticed a girl on the street dressed in a really cool way which I would totally try out - converse sneakers, black blazer, skinny jeans, sunglasses and red lipstick. I instantly fell in love with her outfit and this is where my inspiration comes from. The whole look was casual but stylish, a bit rebellious if you wish, but girly. I love such combinations. Because of this look I am ot the verge of buying Converse or Vans as soon as I can.  This outfit is another prove that you can wear your blazer in a 100 different ways and look amazing.
I'd be happy to hear your thoughts on the look.

Thank you for reading and stay tuned!

The Lookbook - burgundy/red jeans

"For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."
 - Audrey Hepburn
(cheesy, but true - if you feel great, you look great!)

I just love it when I have so much material for you! As much as I didn't expect it, we found a few cool places where we took photos as well as a playground with three lovely swings where I felt like a kid again - not a single care in the world ...

I had been thinking about this outfit for awhile now. I tried something like it and I showed you a bit in a previous post but that is irrelevant now. Finally, I found some colour! Combined with black but still colour different from beige! I bought these jeans more than 3 years ago and I haven't wrn them much, guess why... the colour! That doesn't matter because I found them in a dusty corner of my closet and they are back into my life for sure. Hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.

3 Things I need to Change in my Closet

While writing, I am accompanied by the rain tapping on my window pane once again. I don't know why I always start with the weather, I guess it just has an impact on my overall mood for the day and therefore on my posts.

Today I decided to share with you something that I haven't talked about with anyone at all... what I don't like about the way I choose my clothes. My sometimes conservative and narrow-minded views which I realize are not what measures style. Moreover, some of them restrict my own style and choices. I know you haven't seen much of my everyday outfits much lately but I will take a few photos as soon as possible.
So here they come:

1. I don't wear colours.
Yes... I feel like I am an old lady sometimes. I stick to the colour that is my current favourite and I rarely get out of my comfort zone to experiment with colours. And broadening your horizons in fashion is quite important, I believe. Here is an excerpt form a few of my a bit forgotten Lookbooks - you can see them as a whole here, here, and here . By the way, I think the photos below may be used in a post called "3 Ways to Wear Beige Jeans"... but I'll think of something more challenging for that one.

2. I rarely/almost never wear high heels.
This is one that I cannot get over. It is just the fact that my feet are not used to wearing such shoes for longer than an hour or two and I feel so incredibly tall with heels - and I am not even that tall! My sister used to tell me that it is not my fault that I am pretty and model-like and all the guys and my friends are short but I don't believe her because she's obliged to say that I look beautiful... I seriously need to change my attitude towards shoes.

3. I forget how important bags and shoes can be.
That partly explains the thing with heels. I often hear/read how people say that the first thing they see in a woman's outfit are her shoes and I feel so embarrassed when I remeber how I only match the colours of my outfit to my shoes and bags. They remain secondary to the the whole view. I had to dress up for an interview recently and I looked really good! But then I had to choose a bag and I just picked the one which was the smallest evil because I am never tempted to buy cool clutches or high heels even though I love them.

What are your bad habits regarding fashion?

Thanks for reading and stay tuned!
